CIE Professional Development Workshops: Comments and Evaluations

Comments

Each year, we are humbled by the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from participants of our workshops. Click here to read comments sent to us by our workshop alumni.

"A reputation precedes me; as an Israeli, I know it all. I thought I always had “enough” information in my basic education to be an effective teacher when explaining the history of the Jewish people and the creation of the state of Israel.

Well, the week in Atlanta proved how wrong I am; teaching me more than I had known in a manner that kept me intrigued and engaged all week."

Evaluations

At the end of each one-week workshop, participants are asked to provide a review of the workshop. Evaluations are completed for each presenter, as well as an overall written assessment of the workshop.

  • In June 2012, we conducted an oral review of the workshop in the last session, where, in particular, we asked participants,

"What did this workshop do for you a) professionally and b) personally?"

2012 workshop alumni responses can be found here.

  • In 2006, The AVI CHAI Foundation conducted an external evaluation of our one-week workshops on modern Israel.

Click here to read excerpts from the evaluation ( HaCohen, Avraham Y. "Survey of Participants in the 'Workshops on Modern Israel' of the Institute for the Study of Modern Israel of Emory University," Interim Report- January 19, 2006.)

*Please note: in July 2008, the CIE inherited the Emory Institute for the Study of Modern Israel's prestigious decade of experience, including its nationally renowned professional development workshops
