American Jewish Committee’s 2024 Survey of American Jewish Opinion found that American Jews developed stronger, deeper connections to Israel as antisemitic incidents increased after the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas.
The AJC survey, conducted in the spring and unveiled during the AJC Global Forum in June, found that 85% of American Jews believe that it is important for the United States to support Israel and that 57% of American Jews feel more connected to Israel and/or their Jewish identity since the Oct. 7 attack.
“Despite rising antisemitism making Jews feel less safe, American Jews are defiantly proud about who they are and even more connected to Israel,” AJC CEO Ted Deutch said about the findings.
