Israel launched airstrikes on a residential area in the Qatari capital, Doha, targeting Hamas’ leadership but apparently failing to kill half a dozen top leaders. Qatar decried the assault as “state terrorism,” and President Donald Trump said the strike “does not advance Israel or America’s goals.” Virtually unanimous condemnation came from capitals across the world.
