Editor of the German-language Encyclopedia Judaica, Klatzkin, born in Russia, is an author, philosopher and revered Zionist thinker. Receiving his PhD in 1912, he begins writing for Hebrew periodicals in Germany, and almost immediately becomes director of the Jewish National Fund (1912-1915). An intellectual opponent of Zionist Leader Ahad Ha-Am, his most famous works include, “Krisis Und Entscheidung im Jedentum,” “Probleme des Modernen Judentums,” and “Otzar Munahim ha’Philosophim.”
