President Donald Trump announced at the inaugural meeting of his Board of Peace in Washington on February 19, 2026, that member countries had pledged $7 billion for Gaza’s reconstruction, in addition to $10 billion Trump promised from the United States. Neither sanctioned by the UN nor funding ratified by the US Congress, the Board evolves as Trump’s limitless ability to intervene in international events. Its emerging shape is similar to the Jimmy Carter Center, which the 39th president used to assert his international presence for almost five decades after leaving office. A major difference so far is that Trump’s funding appears to be massive. (source)
