Prime Minister Netanyahu prefaces a long speech by President Trump at the Israeli parliament, praising him for his extraordinary friendship of the US. Stressing that Trump and his administration had brokered a cease-fire with Hamas, with the 20 remaining living hostages returned to Israel in exchange for 2000 Palestinian prisoners. Days in advance of the exchange Israeli troops withdrew to control 53% of the Gaza Strip and though the cease-fire held, Hamas operatives summarily killed other Gazans who had ostensibly worked with the Israelis.
