Comprised of six teams, the IBL is made up of 120 players representing 9 countries outside of Israel. Recruited through open tryouts around the world, the league’s goal is to field teams with these players, working towards eventually having at least 40% Israeli players on the field. PBS Airs the opening game, which sees 3,112 fans in attendance. Unfortunately, the league only lasts for one season.
