During Shavuot, a delegation of Iraqi Jews, on their way to meet with Crown Prince Abdullah, are attacked by a violent mob. The violence quickly spreads to other districts of the city engulfing Baghdad in anti-Jewish riots. Throughout the two-day horror, more than 200 Jews are killed, with nearly 1000 wounded. Hundreds of Jewish businesses and homes are likewise vandalized and looted.
