A Ukraine native who moved to Israel at 12, Dolgopyat won the artistic gymnastics gold medal for floor exercise at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. He also won gold in the event at the 2020 European Championships and silver in 2017 and 2019 at the World Championships. He also competes in the vault. His inability to marry in Israel because his mother is not Jewish has been cited in calls to reform marriage laws.
