Named one of CNN’s “10 Most Powerful Women in Tech” in 2010, Fassberg immigrated from South Africa in 1975, rose to become CEO of Intel Israel and retired in 2016 after 33 years with the company. She advocated diversity in the workplace and encouraged women to take more senior roles. She was one of 14 women to light the torches during Israel’s 66th Independence Day ceremonies. Before her corporate career, she taught high school chemistry and physics after earning a master’s in applied chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
