U.S. President Donald Trump begins to invite countries to be inaugural members of his Board of Peace and circulates the charter for the organization. The board’s validity is rooted in the October 2025 Gaza ceasefire and the related U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803, which gave it a role only in Gaza and an expiration at the end of 2027. But the charter presents the Board of Peace as a permanent, unbounded entity with Trump as its chairman for as long as he wants the job and with nearly limitless authority over the membership and finances.
