Former Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, now the leader of the Knesset opposition, announced the formation of a combined party list (Together) for the Knesset election due to be held in Israel by October 2026. Their aim is to unseat Prime Minister Netanyahu, the longest serving Prime Minister in Israel’s history. Issues surrounding the election include accountability for the October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel; multiple efforts to reconfigure Israeli democracy by placing more power in government/cabinet hands, and less in the judiciary, drafting Haredi/religious youth into the army, and alleged corruption charges brought against Netanyahu.
