Nazis Complete First Test of Zykon B Gas on Soviet Prisoners

The first test use of Zyklon-B gas at Auschwitz to be used for mass extermination of Jews and other “undesirables.” Across the continent of Europe, Nazis invade Yugoslavia (Jewish pop. 75,000), Greece (Jewish pop. 77,000), and the Soviet Union (Jewish pop. 3 million). German Jews are ordered to wear yellow stars. Jews left in Europe are murdered, attacked, gassed. This is the beginning of the “final solution.”
