The U.N. Security Council unanimously passes Resolution 2817 in response to Iranian strikes on several Arab states. The language is direct and harsh, condemning Iran’s attacks, calling them “egregious,” and affirming “the inherent right of individual or collective self-defense in response to the deplorable armed attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Throughout the war, Arab states do not engage in military missions against Iran except in self-defense.
