From the early 19th century, Zionists and then Israelis negotiated with Arabs in Palestine and neighboring areas. Zionist officials sought compromises as early as the 1930s and into the 1940s, as when the Jewish Agency reach out to ‘Azzam Pasha. Some negotiations were direct and discreet. Others were mediated by third parties, mostly by the United Nations and United States, with a major exception being the secret negotiations for the 1993 Oslo Accords. Our listing of materials is selective and not meant to be comprehensive. Some of these books, articles and videos are available online. Many more are not and require access to archives, libraries or journals.
