Shalom Hanoch, 1946-

Singer and composer Hanoch is considered the father of Israeli rock. Born on Kibbutz Mishmarot, he began writing songs at 14 and joined the army band during his military service. He was a founding member of the first major Israeli rock band, Tamuz. He was a longtime collaborator with fellow Israeli rock greats Arik Einstein and Meir Ariel. Hanoch recorded albums in every decade from the 1960s to 2010s.
