A native of Rishon LeZion, Ashram won gold in the rhythmic gymnastics all-around at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. She also won the European all-around in 2020 and captured 11 world championship medals in her career. She retired in April 2022 as the first Israeli woman to win Olympic gold and the first champion in her sport from outside the former Soviet Union at an Olympics in which ex-Soviet states competed.
