Naftali Bennett

The leader of Habayit Hayehudi, the Jewish Home Party since 2012, Naftali Bennett is currently serving as Israel’s Prime Minister as part of the Change government elected in 2021. After two years he will rotate into the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Yair Lapid will begin his two years as Prime Minister. In the previous Knesset, Bennett was the Minister of Education and Diaspora Affairs. Born in Haifa, Bennett is a former tech CEO who also served in the IDF’s Sayeret Matkal special operations unit. Bennett is opposed to a two-state solution with the Palestinians and advocates for applying Israeli sovereignty to those areas of the West Bank currently under Israeli control. As prime minister he has stated that his government will neither annex territory nor see a two-state solution, in order to allow the government’s diverse coalition to continue to work together.
