The Hebrew Benevolent Congregation Temple, known in Atlanta as “the Temple,” is bombed by white supremacists in the night. A series of bombings and bomb threats also occur at other Jewish sites throughout the Southern United States. Jewish support for racial desegregation and civil rights appear to be behind the bombers’ actions.
