With tension in Israel high over Iran’s voiced intention to “wipe it off the map,” Canadian Defense Minister, Peter MacKay and Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak sign a military cooperation agreement. It includes among other items, intelligence sharing and military technology exchanges. Canada’s Prime Minister, Steven Harper remains an outspoken supporter of Israel, sometimes disregarding pockets of general public opposition to backing Israel in security fields. At this time there are 315,000 Jews in Canada, roughly .9% percent of Canada’s total population.
