Israel’s Knesset elected Isaac Herzog as its 11th president. Herzog was formally head of a parliamentary faction and most recently head of the Jewish Agency. With centrist political orientations, he fills this mostly ceremonial Israeli leadership position with a distinctive orientation toward building positive relations with Jews in the diaspora.
