Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems LTD and India’s Reliance Defense LTD agree to cooperate on air defense systems, air-to-air missiles, and surveillance balloon programs. This historic cooperation agreement, building upon more than 20 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, will amount to nearly $10b worth of future deals. Israel and Indian have maintained full diplomatic relations since 1992. Today, India is one of Israel’s largest trading partners, exchanging nearly $4.5b a year in non-military goods. India likewise relies on Israel for advanced military technologies, including Israeli assault rifles, radar systems, and planes equipped with airborne warning and control systems (AWACS).
