Benayoun, born in the southern city of Dimona in 1980, is one of Israel’s top footballers of all time. Starting his career with the Ha’poel Beer Sheva Football Club at the age of 16, his talents are recognized early on in his career. He plays for Racing de Santader FC in Spain’s La Liga in 2002 and then in England. In 2013, he is the captain of the Israeli national team.
