Beitar Jerusalem FC, a team that has traditionally been supported by right-wing Israelis, announces that it will draft two Muslim players of Chechen decent. Arcadi Gaydamack, Beitar’s owner at the time of the purchase, refuses to back down from his decision to buy these players, despite threats, angry remarks and letters from fans. Gaydamack states that “Muslims always helped Jews.”
