At the end of the 1973 war, Egyptian and Israeli generals meet 101 Kilometers from Cairo. After two weeks of negotiations, they reach a military disengagement agreement. However, US Secretary of State Kissinger asks that the talks be ended short of a signature because he wants the agreement to emerge after the upcoming December 1973 Middle East peace conference in Geneva. The talks are accordingly halted short of a signed agreement.
