Palestinian nationalist leader Mufti Hajj Amin al Husayni rejects the 1939 White Paper, although it satisfies most Palestinian demands (a sharp curtailment of immigration and the growth of the Jewish national home). Other Palestinian leaders suspect that Husayni’s objections are primarily a result of self-interest, rather than concern for the welfare of the Arab community in Palestine.(source)
