At a meeting of the Palestine National Council in Cairo, the original PLO charter, drafted in 1964, is amended. Both iterations invalidate Israel’s right to exist and include the principle of armed struggle for the liberation of Palestine. 30 years later, the PLO changes its charter, recognizing Israel.
