Reconstructionist Judaism, a liberal movement, formally becomes a distinct denomination of Judaism with the founding of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Reconstructionists uphold traditional Jewish laws, halacha for example, but see them as progressive “pathways” to the needs of modernity and contemporary living.
