Secretary Kerry Offers PM Netanyahu Regional Framework for Peace in Secret Multilateral Meeting

Details about a secret summit between Secretary Kerry, PM Netanyahu, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Egyptian President al-Sisi are leaked by an anonymous source from the Obama administration. Kerry apparently offered Netanyahu a peace plan, which included regional recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and an Arab-state; and supported resumption of Israeli-Palestinian talks. As reported, these ideas are rejected by Netanyahu because he could not sell it to his narrow coalition government. Notably, the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas did not participate in the discussions.
