Friedman, a prolific figure in Jewish Music, records over 20 albums, including famous titles such as “Not by Might, Not by Power,” “Shalom Aleichem,” “Miriam’s Song,” and “Mi Sheberach.” She is credited with both bringing Jewish music into the mainstream and composing songs that cross denominational lines within the American Jewish Community. Friedman, who sings in both Hebrew and English, composes pieces that are used as prayers in hundreds of synagogues. She infuses music into otherwise traditional American congregational services, often with Israel as a theme.
