With 650,000 Jews in Latin America, representing the second largest diaspora Jewish community, Zionist leaders in New York begin printing a Spanish Zionist newsletter. This newsletter quickly becomes popular with liberal Christian communities as well, creating a vast network of non-Jewish, Latin American Zionist supporters. The elites of the Christian and Jewish pro-Zionist groups, brought together by the Spanish publication, meet in Montevideo, Uruguay for the first convention.
