At the American Jewish Committee’s Global Forum: World Leaders Plenary, US National Security Adviser Susan Rice presents the Obama administration’s two-pronged outlook toward Israel: strong and unwavering American support for Israel’s long-term security and emphatic opposition to continued Israeli settlement activities. Referencing the billions of dollars in aid, F-35 fighter jet deal and Iron Dome missile defense system delivered to Israel by the Obama administration, she assures attendees that the administration “is fiercely devoted to Israel and to the well-being of the Jewish people.” And, she made sure to reinforce the Obama administration’s position that Israel’s “settlement activity corrodes the prospects for two [independent Jewish and Palestinian] states.” (source)
