A part of the new wave of Israeli authors, Yehoshua wrote short stories, novels and plays, including “The Lover,” “The Tunnel” and “A Tale of Two Zionists.” He received international literary awards ranging from the National Jewish Book Award in 1990 to the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in 2006. The New York Times called him an “Israeli Faulkner.” His works have been translated into over 30 languages and adapted for television, theater and film. He was active in peace efforts and helped start Peace Now.
